The green navigation ribbon is created by making the row a bit wider than the white rows (1220 versus 1200px), using a linear gradient as background, and a side border on the columns. Then, some drop shadow is added using the shadow control located under the effects section on the design pane.
The navigation links are changed to display block (from inline-block) following the second breakpoint.
